Clinical Supervision

Clinical Supervision is extremely important for trainees, newly qualified practitioners and more experienced therapists alike. In the interests of both clients and therapists, most professional bodies (e.g. COSCA, BABCP, BPS, HCPC, UKCP, BACP etc.) require members to incorporate regular Clinical Supervision into their clinical practice.

Clinical Supervision is a professional service, rather than a managerial role. It involves finding a fellow practitioner who has sufficient training, knowledge and experience to support you in your work with clients. It involves attending sessions with another practitioner to review your work with clients, discuss professional development and explore personal issues too, if necessary.

''Success… seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep

moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit.'.

COMING SOON IN SPRING 2018! There is now an expectation that therapists engage in regular Clinical Supervision to develop and maintain high standards of clinical and professional practice. Here's more details about our Clinical Supervision Services:

  • We can provide Clinical Supervision to both trainee and qualified therapists.
  • Appointments are arranged by you and your Associate Clinical Supervisor and last between 50-55 minutes
  • Appointments must be paid for in cash and given to your Associate Clinical Supervisor at the end of your session
  • We work with independent Associates to offer professional Clinical Supervision at affordable prices.
  • Our current rates are: £40 per session (Members of The CBT’ers Club); £50 per session (non-Members of The CBT’ers Club); and £60 per sessions (other organisations ).
  • Associate Clinical Supervisors are independent (i.e. not employed by us). However, we require all Associates to complete application forms, attend interviews and provide references before they are engaged by us as Associate Clinical Supervisors. They are fully qualified therapists who have current PVGs, have completed further Clinical Supervision training, have professional memberships and engage in ongoing CPD
  • If you need to cancel your appointment, please provide your Associate Clinical Supervisor with at least 48 hours notice, otherwise full payment of the fee will be required. If you cannot attend because of an emergency, please let your Associate Clinical Supervisor know as soon as possible that you are unable to attend. In the event of an emergency, the fee will be waived, although the £15 room hire fee will still have to be paid by you
  • If you have any questions or require any further information, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
